About the Role
The PLC programmer /Technician is responsible for programming, testing, and maintaining PLC systems in industrial automation projects. This role involves integrating control systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring seamless operation of automation solutions across various industries. The position requires hands-on expertise in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA integration, and on-site commissioning.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, test, and implement PLC programs using ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams (FBD).
Configure and integrate Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and control.
Perform on-site testing and commissioning of automation systems to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC software, hardware, and communication networks.
Implement safety functions, including emergency stops and interlocks, in accordance with industry standards.
Modify and update control programs to support system upgrades or process optimisations.
Collaborate with engineering teams to design efficient automation solutions.
Document programming logic, system configurations, and maintenance procedures.
Train operators and maintenance teams on control system functionalities.
Ensure all control systems comply with relevant regulations such as IEC 61131-3 or NFPA 79.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical, Automation, or Control Engineering.
Strong experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or similar).
Proficiency in HMI/SCADA system development and integration.
Hands-on experience with industrial automation, control panels, and instrumentation.
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
Solid troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for PLC and hardware failures.
Familiarity with safety standards and industrial communication protocols.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Willingness to travel for on-site commissioning and support.
Valid UAE driving licence.
